An exhibition of works by artist Dragan Braković Braka
On Friday, June 21, the „Vojislav Ilić“ Rudnik Cultural Centre hosted the opening of an exhibition of works of intarsia by Dragan Braković Braka. Intarsia (a word of Arab origin) is artistic decoration of objects of wood by inlaying pieces of wood and other materials in various colours, so that they are at the same level with the base. Ancient peoples, such as Egyptians, Greeks and Romans, used intarsia to decorate various objects. This ancient type of art was particularly cherished in Italy and later in Germany, France and other parts of Europe.
